A picture say a thousand words! Syria Bashar al-Assad and his regime disregard human lifes!
UN urged to demand halt to Syria air strikes. More than 70 nations sign letter to UN General Assembly to demand end to deadly attacks, especially use of barrel bombs.
On Sunday, August 16 a reported minimum of 112 civilians were killed in the Damascus suburb of Douma, activists claimed, after Syrian military jets hit a public market at mid-day with two missile strikes, one after rescue workers arrived. It’s being described as one of the deadliest single jet attacks of the war.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, four separate missiles were fired in the strikes, which struck the main market in the town during rush hour. Initial airstrikes were reportedly followed shortly afterwards by surface-to-surface missiles which hit people who had rushed to the scene to help.
“I entered the market and the corpses were scattered everywhere, human remains thrown on the produce and vegetables, and under every box of tomatoes was a corpse or part of a corpse.” —Bassam al-Hakeem, a Douma-based photographer
